Plain English summary: Folio is a free tool provided in good faith. Your notes are yours. We're not responsible if something goes wrong. Don't misuse the service.

Acceptance of terms

By using Folio at editor.foliomd.app or foliomd.app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Description of service

Folio is a web-based markdown editor that allows you to create, edit, and manage .md files stored in your Google Drive account. Folio also provides integrations with Google Tasks and Google Docs.

Folio is currently provided as a free beta service. Features may change, be added, or be removed at any time.

Your account and data

Folio uses Google OAuth to authenticate you. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. Your notes and files are stored in your own Google Drive โ€” Folio does not store copies of your data on any server.

You retain full ownership of all content you create using Folio. We claim no intellectual property rights over your notes or files.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Folio to:

Google services

Folio integrates with Google Drive, Google Tasks, and Google Docs via Google's APIs. Your use of those services is also governed by Google's Terms of Service. Folio is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google.

Availability and changes

We make no guarantee that Folio will be available at any particular time or that it will be free from errors. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice.

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of Folio after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.

Disclaimer of warranties

Folio is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

You use Folio at your own risk. We strongly recommend maintaining your own backups of important notes, as your files are stored in Google Drive and subject to Google's own service terms.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Folio and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Folio shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
