Common questions

Yes — completely free to use. Your notes are stored in your own Google Drive so there are no storage costs on our side either. We may introduce optional paid features in the future but the core editor will always be free.
Your notes are real .md files stored in your own Google Drive — in whatever folder you choose. Folio never stores your data on its own servers. You own your notes completely.
Open Folio in Chrome, then look for the install icon in the address bar (it looks like a small screen with a down arrow). Click it and Folio will install as a standalone app in your ChromeOS launcher — just like any other app.
Yes — Folio works in any mobile browser and can be installed as a PWA on Android. Open it in Chrome on your phone and tap "Add to Home Screen." iOS support is in progress.
Folio is currently going through Google's OAuth verification process. Until that's complete, Google shows this warning for any app requesting Drive access. It's safe to proceed — click "Advanced" and then "Go to Folio." You'll only see this once.
Folio requires an internet connection to load and save files from Google Drive. Offline editing support is on the roadmap — notes would sync when you reconnect.
On ChromeOS, right-click any .md file, choose "Open with", and select Folio from the list. Tick "Always open with this app" to make it permanent. Folio must be installed as a PWA first.
