Folio requests access to your Google account in order to function. Specifically:
.md files in folders you choose. Folio only accesses files you explicitly open or create within the app.Folio does not access your email, contacts, calendar, photos, or any other Google data.
Folio has no backend server and stores no user data. All data operations happen directly between your browser and Google's APIs. Your notes are stored as files in your own Google Drive account — not on any Folio server.

We use the Google account access you grant solely to provide the core features of Folio:
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or the contents of your Google Drive with any third party. Ever.
The only third-party service Folio uses is Google's own APIs (Drive, Tasks, Docs) — your data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy when in transit to or from those services.
If you contact us via the support form on this website, we receive your name, email address, and message. This information is used only to respond to your enquiry and is not stored beyond what appears in our email inbox. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
If you request beta access, we collect your Google email address for the sole purpose of adding it to our Google OAuth test user list. We send you one confirmation email and do not contact you further unless you reach out to us.
Folio does not use cookies. We use browser localStorage to store your session token and preferences. This data is local to your device and is not transmitted to us.
Folio is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Folio after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
